About diarrhoea
Diarrhoea is passing looser or more frequent stools than what is normal for you.
You or a family member may need to go to the toilet more often. Diarrhoea is a common issue, it can strike at anytime, anywhere, sometimes at the most inconvenient of times.
There are a number of different causes of diarrhoea from infections (viral or bacterial), dietary changes, food intolerances, excessive alcohol consumption, bowel conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease and even some medications.
Most of us have experienced travel diarrhoea while visiting places where the climate or sanitary practices differ from ours. Although painful and annoying, it usually passes quite quickly. Travel diarrhoea can occur from consuming contaminated food or water.
